Post-Click Marketing Review - Week of March 20th

  • WebProNews reports that the number of people accessing the internet on a mobile device more than doubled from January 2008 to January 2009. In order to serve up the best, most effective experience, online marketers must continue to keep the user in mind. Are they clicking on ads from an iPhone, Blackberry, or desktop? 
  • If you’re headed to SES New York next week (Scott Brinker is speaking at the session Advanced B2B), check out TopRank’s “Geeky Gadgets for Surviving and Thriving at Conferences”. I’m partial to the Tumi nylon ballistic briefcase, Digital Flip Camera, and iPhone.
  • Andy Beal of MarketingPilgrim reports that Twitter is slowly starting to integrate sidebar ads onto Twitter’s homepage. A Twitter ad would be a great segue to a social landing page.
  • Finally, a new article in Fortune suggests that the government should have included advertising dollars in their $800 billion stimulus package. While Congress may have dropped the ball there, getting your own post-click marketing “stimulus package” approved by your organization is a sure-fire way to get more sales from the same spend in 2009.
