Dear Static White Paper, I'm leaving you...

Listen. We need to talk.

Our time together has been amazing. I’ve learned so much from you. Everyone around you has. You’ve been helpful and have given me advice when I’ve needed it.

I come to you when I just need to relax, sit back and read all you have to teach me.

You’ve been wonderful, even to my friends. Whenever I had things to share with my peers, you were right there to help me dictate on paper what I may have had trouble with saying any other way.

I’ll always care about you. But it’s time for me to move on.

Everyone grows and sometimes we just grow apart.

It’s really not you. It’s me. I’m ready to explore and turn a new leaf. I have so much more that I need to do in my experiences.

This isn’t an easy decision. You’ll still make such an impression on the choices I make in the future and I will always think about what you’ve done for me. But it’s time for me to embrace the interactions I have always longed for.

And about the engagement… it never happened. No ring. No getting down on one knee. It just wasn’t there between us. And while you offered so much to me and the people around you, engagement just wasn’t going to happen.

Static White Paper, I love you, but it’s time to go our separate ways. I need something exciting, something engaging, something interactive. My digital experience needs to grow up with the times and, although you were a leader for such a long time in the content marketing world, that just isn’t the case anymore.

Interactive Marketing Apps stole my attention. No, I didn’t cheat on you with them. No, I’m not leaving you behind with no influence on my future. But marketing apps have really filled that hole that I knew was missing something. Pardon if I’m too harsh—they’re you, but better. They’re grown up. Sophisticated. They’re not needy. They have their stuff together.

Don’t get me wrong. You were amazing. But I’m too busy to sit down and spend time flipping through your pages, and that’s not fair for me to neglect you like that. Marketing apps don’t mind if I just stop to chat and play a quick game then leave. I learn just as much in half the time. And others feel the same.

So Static White Paper, I thank you for everything you’ve done. I can’t express how much I appreciate all we’ve been through and I’ll take everything you’ve given me and use it in the future. But it’s time to move on. Marketing apps now have my heart.

Please forgive me and take care. I’ll never forget you.
